Celebrate Guru Ramdas’ birth anniversary with great enthusiasm and pomp at the Golden Temple

A large number of devotees paid homage to the Golden Temple and took a holy dip at Amrit Sarovar during the Parkash Prabhu of Sikhism’s fourth guru Guru Ramdas here on Monday.

The Golden Temple, Akal Takht and Gurudwara Baba Atal Rai were beautifully decorated with colorful lights and flowers. The jallau (show of splendor) was the center of attention of the devotees.

The bhog of the Akhand path was offered at Gurdwara Sri Manji Sahib Diwan Hall, after which famous ragis, dadis and kwishar jathas connected the congregation with the history, philosophy and Gurbani of Gurmat.

SGPC President Harjinder Singh Dhami addressed the congregation on the birth anniversary of Guru Ramdas and extended greetings to the devotees.

SGPC also released the poster of ‘Raag Naad Sambad’ program based on 31 ragas. SGPC Chairman Harjinder Singh Dhami released the poster. He said that the verses recorded in Guru Granth Sahib consist of 31 ragas. Gurbani is sung in these 31 ragas of his by famous ragi groups and devotees can gain knowledge about these ragas. He said that in the next phase, other singing styles mentioned in Guru Granth Sahib would also be a part of it.

Dhami said the works and teachings of the fourth Guru of Sikhism provide guidance and direction to humanity.

Earlier, Giani Pinderpal Singh, a famous storyteller, narrated the life of Guru Ramdas to the congregation while speaking at Gurudwara Sri Manji Sahib Diwan Hall.

Meanwhile, SGPC honored the students who secured first rank in the examinations conducted for religious studies. Students from schools and colleges presented gurbani dedicated to Guru Ramdas on his birth anniversary at Gurdwara Manji Sahib Diwan Hall. The Panth poets of Kabi Durbar shared the life of the fourth Guru. Langar was distributed among devotees.

Jathedars of Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Raghbir Singh, SGPC Chairman Harjinder Singh Dhami, Takht Sri Kesgar Sahib Sultan Singh and other prominent figures from the community were present during the Gurmat programme. attended.
