Thousands of people offer prayers at Golden Temple to commemorate Guru Nanak’s Parkash store

The 554th Parkash Pav of the first Sikh guru Guru Nanak Dev was celebrated today with great enthusiasm on both sides of the India-Pakistan border.

The decorated Golden Temple in Amritsar was visited by a large number of people as part of a special Gurumat program organized by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) at the Gurudwara Sri Manji Sahib Diwan Hall in the shrine complex where the Bhog of Akhand Path was performed. It was packed with believers.

The center of attention was the ‘jalau’ (grand) ceremony, during which the rarest decorative beauties, studded with canopies studded with precious stones, pearls and jewels, were unveiled to the public in the sanctum sanctorum of the Golden Temple in Akal Takht. . In addition to the celebrations at Gurudwara Baba Atal Rai Sahib, fireworks will be displayed in the evening.

Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Raghubir Singh and SGPC President Harjinder Singh Dhami exchanged greetings and asked devotees to follow the teachings of their Gurus and maintain universal brotherhood and harmony.

To mark the occasion, pilgrims from all over the world reached the ‘Janam Asthan’ of Sri Nankana Sahib in Pakistan. The Nagar Kirtans and Panj Pyalas led by Guru Granth Sahib, who were enshrined in a golden “palki” (palanquin), were brought out. According to information, the procession started from Gurdwara Suri Nankana Sahib and covered a red carpet of about 1.5 km.
