NCW seeks police report over murder of pregnant woman in Beas

The National Commission for Women has asked the Amritsar Rural Police to submit an action report regarding the murder of a pregnant woman by her husband in Brennangal village under Beas police station area three days ago.

Three days ago, Pinki, who was six months pregnant, was murdered in Brennangal village and her body was tied to an iron cot and burnt by her husband Sukhdev.

Pinki was allegedly murdered and her body tied to a metal cot before being burnt by the accused.

“Police is yet to receive the final autopsy report, but we will submit the report in the next few days,” said SSP Amritsar (rural) Satinder Singh.

National Commission for Women chairperson Rekha Sharma has sought an action report from the Director General of Police (DGP) regarding the brutal murder of Pinki, who was six months pregnant, by her husband Sukhdev Singh. he was arrested by the police.

Beas police station chief SHO Gurwinder Singh said the initial post-mortem report reported that there was a fracture in the skull, which led to the death. “However, we are still waiting for the final report to determine the exact cause behind her death,” he said.

The victim’s mother told police that Sukhdev had a hobby of raising pigeons and that the couple often fought because of this. He used his income to raise pigeons.
