Gareen Kaur Bag ranks 2nd in Punjab

Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) Mohali today announced the results for classes VIII and XII. In the Class VIII results, Ms. Garleen Kaur of New She Flower High School, Amritsar secured the second position in the state with her 99.67 per cent marks.

Schools and universities are closed today

The Punjab government on Wednesday announced a holiday for all universities, schools, private educational institutions and other commercial establishments to celebrate Labor Day.

This year, a total of 2,91,917 students appeared for the PSEB Class VIII exam out of which 2,86,987 passed the exam. The pass percentage for the Class VIII exam was 98.83 per cent for girls and 97.84 per cent for boys.

PSEB recorded an overall pass percentage of 98.31 per cent for Class VIII. Harnoorpreet Kaur of Government Secondary School and Bhai Rupa of Bathinda district topped the state with 100 per cent marks.

In PSEB Class XII results, Amritsar district secured the top spot in the state with a pass percentage of 97.27%. Niya Mahajan of Mussoorie International Public School secured her 491/500 marks (98.2 per cent) in the Class XII examinations, making her the top performer in the district.

Shri Muktsar Sahib’s pass success rate is the lowest at 87.86%. This year, a total of 2,84,452 students appeared for his PSEB Class XII exam out of which he 2,64,662 students passed the exam.

PSEB recorded an overall pass percentage of 93.04% in the Class XII exam. The pass rate for girls in Grade 12 was 95.74 percent and for boys was 90.74 percent.

Meanwhile, the Punjab government on Wednesday announced a holiday for all universities, schools, educational institutions and other commercial establishments to celebrate Labor Day, according to a letter issued by the district education officer.
