2 people killed, 1 injured in accident

Two people, including a woman, were killed and one was seriously injured when a speeding car collided with a motorcycle at Boparai Baz Singh village on Ramtirath road here on Sunday.

After the accident, the car landed in a farmland and the driver fled the scene, leaving the car behind (DL-9C-AA-7524). Police arrested the unidentified driver of the car. The injured are receiving treatment at a private hospital.

Sukhminder Singh, a resident of Bhopalia Baz Singh under the jurisdiction of Lopoke police station here, went to Kurmania village for work and there he met his son Manapreet Singh and the (complaint’s) brother’s daughter-in-law Amandeep, police said. told. Kaur had returned to Boparai Vaz Singh. He said Manatt was riding a motorbike and he was following them on his bike.

He said when they reached near Boparai, a car coming at high speed from the Ramtirath side hit a cyclist who was riding in front of Manapreet’s bike. The bike driver, later identified as Kanwaldeep Singh of Chidan village, sustained serious injuries. He said the car then hit his son’s bike and his son and Amandeep Kaur fell on the road and sustained serious injuries. After colliding with two motorcycles, the car lost control and fell into a field.

He said that due to the strong impact of the collision, his son Manatpreet and his brother’s daughter-in-law Amandeep Kaur died on the spot. He said the injured Kanwaldeep was taken to a private hospital.

ASI Sakkatar Singh, investigating officer in the case, said a case has been registered against the unidentified auto driver and investigations are underway to identify him.
