Two drones, heroin seized in Amritsar, Tarun Taran


Two drones and two packets of heroin, allegedly sent across the Pakistan border, were seized by the Border Security Force (BSF) in Amritsar and Tarun Taran districts on Monday.

Around 3:40 a.m., members of BSF’s 144th Battalion heard the buzzing of some flying object from the Pakistani side. A person familiar with the development said someone could also hear something falling on farmland behind the border fence near Atari.

Security personnel then cordoned off the area and carried out a search operation, seizing a small quadcopter and packets of heroin just 50 meters from the border fence.

In Tarn Taran, troops of BSF 103 Battalion in coordination with Punjab Police seized a box of heroin from a field in Karia village Bala Singh near Noorwala border outpost.

Another drone was seized from Dano-e-Khurd village near Attari in Amritsar district. Acting on information about the presence of a drone in the area, BSF personnel conducted a search operation and seized a quadcopter with a broken wing from a dry well.
