Amritsar, May 17th

A day after the roadshow in Amritsar, AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal and CM Bhagwant Mann held a meeting with Punjab ministers, MLAs and party officials here.

Kejriwal said, “I will be in jail on June 4, the day the election results are announced, but I will watch the election results on TV. 12 days left to ensure the party wins all 13 seats.

Targeting the Bharatiya Janata Party, he said his arrest would not bring about any change in the party. “The Bharatiya Janata Party tried to demoralize me. Rather, it sent a message to the BJP that arresting one Kejriwal will not work because every AAP employee is a Kejriwal. The Supreme Court has given me mercy. He granted me bail for 21 days. Now, I will do everything in my power to remove this government from our country in these 21 days.”

He reiterated his experience in prison and the discrimination he suffered, revealing that he was never allowed to meet Mann in the same room, contrary to prison regulations. “However, there was a condition that the two CMs could meet in a room. But in our case, I was standing on one side of the prison bars and Mann was standing on the other side talking. They wanted to humiliate me,” he said.

He reiterated that there was a shortage of medicine in the prison and that two surveillance cameras had been installed outside the barracks for surveillance.

β€œAt least 13 prison officers were on surveillance to monitor my activities and camera footage was also shared with the Prime Minister’s Office. I have nothing to hide. I was reading,” he said.

Kejriwal also visited the Ram Tirath temple before heading to Mumbai.
