Amritsar, May 23, 2024: In memory of the hundreds of Sikh freedom fighters and pilgrims who were martyred in the first week of June 1984, Dal Khalsa will commemorate the Holocaust in Amritsar on June 5 We will hold a parade.

Speaking at a press conference at the party office, senior leader Kanwar Pal Singh said that 40 years had passed since the Indian establishment attacked Darbar Sahib and bombed Akal Takhat, reducing the building to rubble. Ta.

He said the attack was an unforgivable crime committed by the then Indian government and said the attack alienated Sikhs from mainstream India. Since then, Sikhs have struggled to establish their own independent state, making great sacrifices and facing long periods of detention and suffering, he said.

“Since 1984, a lot of water has been leaking into Punjab’s rivers. There has been a change in political leadership both at the Centre and in the state. This has not healed our wounds of June 1984,” the Dal Khalsa leader said.

“No matter who becomes the face (prime minister) of India after the June 4 LS election results, the position of Sikhs will not improve and the Punjab issue will not be resolved,” he added.

The Dal Khalsa harshly criticized this show of democracy in the elections and said the issue in Punjab was still an issue even after 40 years. Dal Khalsa decided to boycott the LS polls under the current system, believing that the right to self-determination cannot replace elections under the current system.

Announcing details of plans to observe Gargala Week, he said the pain of the deadly attacks in June 1984 was fresh and the wounds still smoldered. He called on the SGPC to carry out investigative work to ascertain the exact number of people killed during the attack.

The meeting accused the Modi government of conducting extrajudicial operations abroad to silence the voice of Sikhs, who are vocal protagonists of the Khalistan cause.

Dal Khalsa has strongly condemned the witch-hunt policy of the Punjab government. The filing of a false case against media tycoon Dr Baljinder Singh Hamdard is nothing but an act of cowardice on the part of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to not face up to the incompetence and criticism levelled by Ajit. The timing of the FIR shows how worried Chief Minister Bhagwant is.

Dar Khalsa leaders expressed condolences over the tragic death of Dr. Seyed Ebrahim Raisi, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Minister of Foreign Affairs. As people of Punjab, we express our heartfelt condolences to his family and the people of Iran in this hour of sorrow.
