Punjab: BSF retrieves Chinese-made Pakistani drone in Amritsar

Amritsar: The Border Security Force (BSF) on Sunday recovered a Pakistani drone near the Amritsar border.

The BSF intelligence wing received information about the presence of a drone, based on which the BSF Punjab unit conducted search operations in the suspected areas.

Forces recovered one drone from farmland in front of the border patrol fence near the village of Danoye Kurdistan at around 11:10 a.m. on Sunday.
The recovered drone has been identified as a Chinese-made DJI Mavic 3 Classic, the BSF said.


Earlier in the day, in a major breakthrough against a cross-border drug smuggling network, Punjab Police and Border Security Force busted an international drug smuggling ring and arrested seven drug smugglers in Fazilka, Punjab.

In the joint operation, police seized 5.47 kg of pure heroin and Rs 17 lakh in cash from the arrested persons.

The BSF recovered a packet suspected to be heroin in Punjab’s Amritsar in the early hours of May 24. The drug packet weighing 400 grams was recovered from a farm in Rolanwala Kalan village in Amritsar district. (ANI)
