AMRITSAR: BJP national president JP Nadda today addressed a large crowd of BJP supporters at a public rally here in support of BJP candidate Taranjit Singh Sandhu for the Amritsar Lok Sabha elections.

JP Nadda began his speech with the slogan “Jo Bole So Nihal”.

Addressing the gathered people, he said Sikh gurus have carried the message of patriotism and equality to the world. “I pay tribute to the youth and martyrs of Punjab. The three colours of the flag represent martyrdom, peace and the Green Revolution in Punjab.”

About the law and order situation in Punjab, he said that drug addiction and law and order situation here is bad. There is huge amount of garbage in every corner of the city and there is no technology to collect garbage. The AAP-led Punjab government has ruined the plight of this holy city. Now it is time for Amritsar to improve only if the BJP candidate from Amritsar wins the elections.

He said that in the first 100 days of the BJP government, it will provide permanent shelter to the people, stop looting and implement central schemes. He also said that PM Modi has given all his efforts to the cause of the soldiers.

Slamming the Congress and the AAP, he said both the parties were deeply upset by the implementation of the Citizenship Amendment Act, under which 230 families have been given citizenship.

To please the Sikh community, he said that while the Indian National Congress has started forgetting the martyrdom of Sahibzada, we (BJP) have started the tradition of celebrating Veer Bal Diwas. If there is anyone who has worked for Sikhs, it is Modi, he quipped.

He said our party has launched a drive to bring back the holy Guru Granth Sahib from Afghanistan but the Congress has issues with it.Nadda said India has reached third position in the automobile industry as India is third in the world in manufacturing modern vehicles.

On extremism, Nadda said earlier biryani was being served to terrorists in Kashmir but that is not the case now. He said India is changing now. Now we believe in precision strikes and are giving a befitting response to our enemies.
