Amritsar Lok Sabha Election Results 2024 Live Updates: Vote counting for the 2024 Indian Lok Sabha elections is underway, with the results of one of the world’s largest elections finally being announced.

More than 7,000 candidates are vying for the mandate of over 9 crore voters in 543 constituencies across 28 states and 9 union territories. Voting for the upcoming assembly elections took place in seven phases from April 19 to June 1, 2024. Now it’s time for the results to be announced.

Polling in Amritsar took place in the seventh phase on June 1.

The main candidates for the 2024 Amritsar general elections are Taranjit Singh Sandhu Samundri (BJP), Gurjeet Singh Aujla (Congress), Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal (AAP) and Anil Joshi (SAD).

As per the latest developments in the vote counting for the 2024 Indian Lok Sabha elections, results are awaited in Amritsar constituency.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the Amritsar seat was won by Congress candidate Gurjit Singh Aujla, with Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Hardeep Singh Puri coming in second.

In the 2014 general election, Amritsar constituency was won by Congress candidate Captain Amarinder Singh, with Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Arun Jaitley coming in second.

The seats falling under Amritsar constituency include Ajnala, Raja Sansi, Amritsar North, Amritsar West, Amritsar Central, Amritsar East, Amritsar South, Attari and Majita.

Amritsar is one of the Indian Lok Sabha seats in Punjab.

Punjab Assembly Elections 2024

Punjab is fighting a multi-front contest in this year’s general elections, with erstwhile allies the BJP and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) fighting independently in all 13 seats, while alliance partners the BJP and AAP have also failed to reach an agreement on seat-sharing and are fielding separate candidates in all constituencies in the state.

The final phase of voting took place in all 13 assembly seats in Punjab on June 1.

In the 2019 Punjab Lok Sabha elections, the Indian National Congress emerged as the leading party, winning eight seats. The BJP and SAD won two seats each, while the AAP won the remaining one. In the last Lok Sabha elections in 2014, NDA partners the BJP and SAD won two and four seats respectively. The AAP won four constituencies, while the Indian National Congress won three.
