Punjab Assembly Election Results 2024: Full list of winners of Congress, AAP, SAD, BJP

In what is expected to be a tightly contested election, the Indian National Congress party was leading in Punjab as of Tuesday, leading in seven of the border state’s 13 Lok Sabha constituencies.

While the AAP was leading in three constituencies but lagging behind, the independents and the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) showed promising results in two and one constituency respectively. What came as a shock to the audience was the performance of the NDA, as the alliance managed to win only zero seats.

The Indian National Congress, which won eight seats in the last elections in 2019, demonstrated its advantage by taking a lead in key constituencies such as Amritsar, Fatehgarh Sahib, Ferozepur, Hoshiarpur, Jalandhar, Ludhiana and Patiala, according to Election Commission data.

AAP candidates took the lead in Anandpur Sahib, Hoshiarpur and Sangrur while SAD won in Bathinda.Notably, independent candidates won in Khadur Sahib and Faridkot constituencies.

Punjab Exit Poll Results:

The Indian National Congress is likely to win between 7 and 9 seats, a major setback for the AAP. Meanwhile, the BJP is likely to win between 2 and 4 seats, while the ruling AAP is likely to win only 0 to 2 seats. Sukhbir Singh Badal’s Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) is likely to win between 2 and 3 seats, according to an India Today/Axis My India poll.

In terms of vote share, the Indian Union is expected to get around 31 percent, the NDA around 26 percent, followed by the SAD with 20 percent and the AAP with 18 percent. The remaining parties are expected to get around 5 percent of the votes.
